Forced Marriage
This painting depicts the tragedy of forced marriages in some countries in the Middle East. In these societies, families are allowed to decide who their daughter will marry, leaving her with no choice in the matter. Unfortunately, this often results in young girls being married off to much older men for the sake of their wealth and status, robbing them of their freedom and happiness. This painting serves as a reminder that women are not tradable goods, and that their basic human rights should be respected. Forced marriages are a violation of these rights, and should not be allowed to continue.
